Thanks to the success of courses we have previously run with Duchy College and Cornwall Adult Education, we now offer a range of courses throughout the year at Killibury as detailed below. Our tutors are experienced and friendly, and we keep group numbers and prices low. Please contact us for availability, prices and booking. Please note none of the courses lead to a qualification - they are leisure courses only.
Introduction to Poultry Keeping
This 4 hour practical and theory course provides all the information and confidence a new chicken keeper needs. Housing, feed, breeds, handling, its all here to get you started. Light refreshments provided. Max 6 people. £25 per person.

Hatch, Match & Dispatch
A 4 hour practical course to learn how to breed and hatch poultry, by both natural and machine incubation. There will be a practical demonstration of humane killing for non-commercial purposes. Those wishing to bring their own birds for culling MUST agree this at time of booking. Light refreshments provided. Max 6 people. £25 per person. On demand
Preparing a Chicken for Cooking
This 5 hour course is for the poultry keeper who wishes to cook their own birds. From rearing birds for the table, through humane slaughter and finally to dressing poultry this course coaches students through the process. A bird will be supplied for the course which you can take home afterwards. Max 4 people. £50 per person.
Introduction to duck keeping
This new enjoyable 3 hour course combines practical hands-on sessions with some classroom work. Thinking about ducks, but not sure? This course is a must. £25 per person. On demand
Bee keeping Experience workshop
A 4 hour course to introduce the subject, the equipment required, the costs and the rewards. A short handling session(weather permitting) will literally get you 'hands-on' with the bees - a real experience! One to one tuition. We provide the suit. £30.

Lambing Practical Course : Full Day
A mix of theory and practice. This full day course will hopefully allow the complete beginner plenty of hands-on lambing experience. Max number 6. By arrangement with the Wool Board. Next dates 2012. Dates to be confirmed.
Introduction to Welding Course
This course can be run either as a one day or two day course, depending on your skill. We can teach you either ARC or MIG welding, and provide all equipment and consumables. The course is tailored to your needs and is based on 1-2-1 tuition. Lunch and refreshments provided. £80 per person 1 day course.

Chainsaw Maintenance Course
A 4 hour course covering H&S and everything you need to know to service and maintain your petrol chainsaw. This is not a chainsaw instruction course. You may bring your own chainsaw. Light refreshments provided. £30 per person. On demand.
Garden Machinery Maintenance Course
Lawnmowers, strimmers, ride on mowers etc. How to service your garden machinery and effect small repairs. Save yourself money and learn to do it yourself. A 4 hr course with light refreshments. £40 per person. On demand.
Trailer Maintenance Course : Two Days
A two day course covering legislation, wheels, running gear, brakes, lights etc. Everything you need to know to competently service your trailer. Max number 4. A mix of classroom work and practical exercises. You can bring your own trailer by arrangement. £160 per person. On demand.
